Jersey Boys the musical

The Jersey Boys musical on Broadway won the Tony award in 2006. It was directed by Des McAnuff. It is based on the book by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice. The music was done by Bob Gaudio and the lyrics were by Bob Crewe. The story follows the life of four street kids that worked their way to up to stardom as Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons . This group was one of most successful rock and roll groups in the 1960′s. It is a true rag to riches story. The most popular songs in the musical are ?Sherry,? ?Big Girls Don’t Cry,? ?Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,? and ?Oh, What a Night.?

The main characters of the show are Nick Massi, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito, and Frankie Vallir. Nick Massi is played by Matt Bogart. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and The Kennedy Center. Bob Gaudio is played by Ryan Jesse. This is Ryan’s first play. He has a B.A. in Musical Theater. Tommy DeVito is played by Dominic Nolfi. He has performed at the White House. He was in the original Jersey Boys play in Europe. Frankie Valli is played by Jarrod Spector. His famous plays that he was done are Les Miserables, Chicago, and Hamlet. He trained at the Atlantic Theater Company NYC.

The show also runs in Las Vegas, London, and Sydney, Australia. The original show started in 2006 at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco. In the first act, it is springtime and it opens with the song, ‘Ces soirees-la’, that was released in 2000. And then Tommy DeVito starts to tell the story of the band and how he got started in the music business. Then it is summertime and the band finally gets a contract with the producer Bob Crewe. But this is only for back up singers.

In Act 2, it starts off in fall. Tommy starts about how the band’s debt begin to spiral out of control. This included one bill that ended the whole band in jail for the weekend. The jail time puts a strain on the relationship between Tommy and Bob. In the Winter, the band finds out that Tommy is the one that is putting them in such great debt. In the final act, the band is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. These are just some of the things that at this such a great play.
